It has come to my attention that there is a document circulating on social media stating that I, Francisca Serwaa Boateng, have been suspended from legal practice for 7 years. The document, described as an ‘Announcement from the General Legal Council’, bears no suit number and it is dated 23rd June, 2022.
I have not received any such document from the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council or the General Legal Council itself. I have also not received a copy of any decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council given on 23rd June, 2022.
I, therefore, urge everyone to disregard the obnoxious document in circulation on social media announcing my so-called suspension from law practice for 7 years. The document is illegal and published in absolute bad faith to tarnish my hard-won reputation. I am taking all necessary legal action against the perpetrators of that illegality.
